Basic Accounting and Bookkeeping

About this course:

This course is intended to give an overview of bookkeeping and accounting for businesses both large and small.  We will learn about the balance sheet, income sheet, and statement of cash flows while also understanding how to gauge business performance from financial documents.

Learning Outcomes: 

1. Understand the key components of accounting and how they interact with one another (Assets, Liabilities and Capital).
2. Be able to use efficiency indicators to analyze how efficient a business is operating.
3. Demonstrate how to calculate margins and the Return on Assets and Equity.
4. Gain an in depth understanding of financial statements.
